STARBLOOD BUILDER PACKAGE - Tom
=====================================

This folder is a standalone copy of the world editor. You do NOT need the
Starblood server, an account, or the internet to use it. Everything it needs is
in this folder.

START HERE
----------
Open Map Editor.bat - place terrain, props and buildings in the 3D world
Open Content Editor.bat - edit items, quests, NPCs, loot and events

Both open the same world from the content\ folder in this directory.

The Map Editor also has an optional built-in internet-radio panel (Music button)
for background listening while you build. It streams over the internet, so it
needs a connection; it does not affect the world at all. Radio is not part of
your save - nothing here depends on it.

CONTENT EDITOR - the essentials
-------------------------------
Pick a type on the left (Items, Quests, NPCs, ...), pick a row underneath,
edit the fields on the right. Use "Save type" to write just that file, or
"Save all" to write everything. "Revert" throws away your unsaved changes.

SAVING AND SENDING WORK BACK
----------------------------
Your edits are saved into this folder, not to a server. When you are done (or
whenever you want to hand something over):

    double-click Send Work Back.bat

That creates a file like work-Tom-20260101-1430.zip next to it. Send
that ONE zip back. It contains only your map and your textures.

Do NOT send the whole folder back. The rest of it is the world everyone else is
also editing, and dropping someone else's copy over the top of yours would undo
their work.

YOUR REGION
-----------
The whole map. No region was assigned, so coordinate with the host if
someone else is also building - otherwise you will both edit the same ground.

Everyone shares one big world file (content\zone.json). Buildings, water, terrain
and ground pads carry no id, so there is no way to tell "this is the same building
that someone else moved" - only the position. That is why each builder gets a box:
inside your box your work is taken, outside it the host's world is left alone.

So:

  * Build freely inside your region. Place props, buildings, water, paint and
    raise terrain there.
  * Stay out of anyone else's region. If you build over there, your work in that
area is ignored when it is merged, because the other builder owns it.
  * Terrain brushes reach about as far as their radius. A brush near the edge of
your box spills into the neighbour's ground; keep a little margin from the
border and you will not fight over the seam.
  * Towns, biomes and roads decide the terrain generated under everything else.
They are only merged when the host's world has none, so leave them alone and
ask the host if you need a new one.

Items, quests, NPCs and loot are separate files with real ids, so those merge
cleanly no matter who edits them. Content work is the safest thing to do in
parallel.

TROUBLESHOOTING
---------------
"The map editor exited with an error"
Read the message in the window, and look for scene.log beside the exe.

The world looks empty / like a plain field
You opened the wrong folder. Make sure you launch with the .bat files in
this directory, not the exe inside SceneEditor\ directly.

  Black or blank viewport
The editor needs OpenGL 3.3. Update your graphics driver.

  Everything is slow
Turn the palette off with F1 while you look around.
